About CRNE

If you are an overseas registered nurse and if you are willing to work as a nurse in Canada, then you must qualify the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE). In order to take the CRNE examination, you must apply for nursing license to any of the state boards of nursing in Canada. That board will determine whether or not you meet its criteria for CRNE examination-eligibility. You must then register to take the exam.

Eligibility criteria to write the CRNE are controlled by each provincial regulatory body. Overseas Nurses must first select where they will practice nursing because each province governs the practice of its registrants. Applicants arrange to write the CRNE by contacting the RN regulatory authority in the province or territory where it will be written. The staff will inform the candidate of the required documentation that must be provided to register for the exam, as well as the fee required.
